i do agree with you, actually. even the plot itself is cliche, but i love how the film was done. all the memories are in vivid color while in the real world it's decayed and gray. there are things to appreciate in the film.

yeah, i think what it is is dated. you could watch this movie and know it was made in the 90's, i was disappointed with it myself cause i had been told for years how great it was. though it was beautiful. i love the shot of him teasing his fiacance with the mask on. but the plot....wow....
this is my favorite movie of all time, for sentimental reasons. seriously. i saw it at 13 and continued onto a nice little adolescence full of subculture choices. lol. i'll always love it even though it's so outdated and silly now. the comic/graphic novel is very mesmerizing though.
