AND: Fritz Lang quoting Bertold Brecht and dubbing him "BB" when talking to Brigitte Bardot.

What an example of synchronicity that you should post this second quotation (is it fromt he film by the way/). It is a calque on herman Goering fmaous, "Whenever I hear the word 'culture,' I reach for my revolver!' This ties in with bardo't involvement with radical animal rights activism and her radical right wing views. That seems like a non sequitur in America, but in Europe the Greens grew out of the right. And nowhere ws the connection stronger than in Goering himself. he was the lead er of the 'Green' faction within the nazi party (he took the title, Reichsmarshal of the Hunt), and thanks to his influence, most of Poland and Belorus would have been turned into a giant national park ahd they won the war.

my least favorite godard. i have such a hard time watching this every time. the cinematography is brilliant, but the storyline, the dialogue, the content is difficult to swallow.

I watched the first 20 minutes and throught it was boring as hell, seeing these stills make me regret not seeing the whole thing...
though I prefer Pierrot le fou and Deux ou trois choses...
