I always liked the "Pure Imagination" scene, and when Violet blew up into a massive blueberry. Hilarious.

I love this movie.
When I was younger I used to really want to eat the enormous gummy bears, haha.

Outstanding

Far superior to that garbage they tried to pass as a remake 34 years later. =\

Remake was awful, I agree

I love this movie for sentimental reasons, but honestly... apart from the art direction (which make for great stills!) and Gene Wilder's undeniably genius embodiment of that character, can you really say this is "flawless"?

I watched it about a year ago and I still love it, but I couldn't say it was "flawless"...

In my opinion, the same is true of the remake, minus sentimentality: the only truly good thing is Depp's performance, except I personally didn't like Depp's interpretation at all, and I loved Wilder's.

Nothing beats the original and Gene Wilder. ♥

Ah my favourite!
These are great.
And the scene where they travel through the tunnel on the boat thing still really frightens me.

I also loved the Pure Imagination scene/song. So many warm emotions.

I adore this film -one of my favourites as a child. I despise the new version, however.

I must agree with Gene Wilder - the new Tim Burton film: The Most Unnecessary Remake of All-Time.

Charlie's teacher is the best thing in this movie ... even though I watched it probably 100 times when I was a kid, I always hated the oompa loompas and kinda still do.
